Sample itinerary

A sneak peek: 48 hours in Marseille

This is what an actual Wanderthrall plan looks like — six real stops, no stock photos. Tap a card to see why each one made the cut.

Tap
Stop 01 · Morning

Orange Vélodrome

Orange Vélodrome

Home of Olympique de Marseille and one of the loudest stadiums in Europe — 67,000 seats built around a fanbase that treats OM like religion. Even outside match days, the steps are worth the walk: "Trop Puissant" ("too powerful") is painted straight into the terracing.

Local tip: go matchday if your dates allow — the atmosphere is the actual attraction.
Tap
Stop 02 · Late Morning

Le Panier's Alleys

Le Panier's Alleys

Marseille's oldest neighbourhood — a tangle of steep, car-free lanes where nearly every wall doubles as a canvas. The OM crest shows up everywhere here, hand-painted and re-painted, alongside genuinely great street art you won't find on a map.

Local tip: just wander — getting slightly lost is the point.
Tap
Stop 03 · Midday

Stade Julien Baudon

Stade Julien Baudon

A painted football court tucked beneath limestone cliffs, nicknamed after Marseille rap icon JUL — his tag and record label are stencilled straight into the tarmac alongside OM's "Droit au But" motto. Zero tourists, all local culture.

Local tip: this is the kind of spot no guidebook lists — exactly what we look for.
Tap
Stop 04 · Afternoon

A Le Panier Print Shop

A Le Panier Print Shop

A doorway-sized stall selling hand-pulled linocut prints for a few euros each — real local craft instead of mass-produced fridge magnets. Half the fun is not knowing it's there until you're standing in front of it.

Local tip: bring small change — most of these tiny stalls are cash-only.
Tap
Stop 05 · Late Afternoon

Palais Longchamp

Palais Longchamp

A genuinely grand 19th-century water palace, built to celebrate a canal that finally brought fresh drinking water to the city — colonnades, a fountain, and two free museums behind it. Feels like a Paris landmark with none of the queues.

Local tip: free to walk around, and the gardens are a good spot to rest your feet.
Tap
Stop 06 · Sunset

Notre-Dame de la Garde

Notre-Dame de la Garde

Marseille's hilltop basilica, topped with a gold Madonna visible from ships out at sea. Climb up for sunset and the whole city, the harbour, and the Frioul islands lay out beneath you at once — the kind of view worth planning a whole evening around.

Local tip: arrive 30 minutes before sunset — the steps fill up fast.

FAQ

Good questions

Do you book flights or hotels for me? +
Not yet — we're a new business and we only recommend and book once we're ATOL-protected and partnered with trustworthy providers. Right now we design the itinerary; you book directly using our recommendations, at your own pace and price.
How does payment work? +
Fill in the quick form for the package you want. We'll reply by email with a payment link and get started as soon as it's confirmed — no surprise charges.
How long does an itinerary take? +
Most itineraries land in your inbox within 3–5 days of your form being submitted and confirmed. Multi-city customs can take a little longer.
What makes the halal-friendly itineraries different? +
Every recommendation — food, stays, and activities — is deliberately chosen to avoid alcohol-centric venues, beach party scenes, and club culture, with halal food and prayer spaces mapped out for you.
I don't know where I want to go — can you still help? +
That's exactly what the Hidden Gems package is for. Tell us your vibe and budget, and we'll pick an under-the-radar destination and build the whole trip around it.
